Why Choose a Club Vacation in Italy?

Calabria is the southernmost region of mainland Italy and forms the tip of the country’s “boot.” The region is separated from the island of Sicily only by the Strait of Messina. Long, numerous sunny days make the area a sun-drenched vacation destination on the European continent. Among the region’s attractions are the following:

Picturesque beaches

The region lies on the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, with coastlines—some of which are rocky—that stretch for 780 kilometers

Historic Villages

You can admire the culture in the many charming churches, monasteries, castles, and palaces

Mountain landscapes and pine forests

Inland, you can explore the unspoiled landscape with its lakes and waterfalls

A paradise for cyclists and hikers

With approximately 400 km of hiking trails in the mountains, which rise to nearly 2,000 m, the conditions are ideal

Tips and Things to Do
Calabria offers a wide variety of sights and cultural highlights that will make your club vacation in Italy unforgettable. From picturesque coastal towns to impressive national parks, there’s plenty to discover. Here are some of the best places to visit that you shouldn’t miss during your stay:

  • Matera: known for its historic Sassi cave dwellings, it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Civita: a small village best known for its stunning location in Pollino National Park and the stone bridge that connects it to the rest of the world.
  • Tropea: Considered the “Saint Tropez” of Southern Italy. As you stroll through the narrow alleys, you’ll pass pastel-colored houses, small cafés, boutiques, and market stalls. Perched on the cliffs is the Cathedral of Santa Maria dell’Isola, with its impressive history, beautiful gardens, and magnificent views.
  • Capo Vaticano: The beach at Capo Vaticano is one of the most beautiful in Italy. In the shimmering coves, you can admire the sea’s various shades of blue.
  • Santa Maria: Thanks to its fine-sand beach, the bay of Santa Maria is particularly popular with families and couples. The bay is home to many restaurants serving local cuisine.
  • Reggio di Calabria: One of the most beautiful places in Calabria. The classical Greek sculptures are significant testaments to Magna Graecia, which shaped the region’s history. A shopping spree along the “Corso Garibaldi” shopping mile is also a popular pastime.
  • Villapiana: a charming coastal town in Calabria that attracts visitors with its historic center and fine sandy beaches. The shallow waters are particularly suitable for families with children.
  • Pollino, Sila, and Serre National Parks: The unique scenic beauty features waterways, cliffs, the monumental trees of the Sila, and the wildlife of the Serre. The Pollino National Park is Italy’s largest national park.
  • A wide range of sports activities: A vacation doesn’t have to be just about relaxation—it can also inspire you to get active or try a new activity. If you’re looking for adventure, you can burn off some energy with rafting or canyoning, or try your hand at paragliding. Water sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy in Calabria.

By the way: Don’t forget Sicily. An island full of contrasts, rich in history and natural beauty—the largest island in the Mediterranean offers numerous highlights: From Palermo, the capital of Sicily, with its vibrant city center brimming with culture and history, to Agrigento, the Valley of the Temples, and Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, your club vacation in Italy will be richly diverse.
