Sustainability at Aldiana

At Aldiana, we have always fostered a harmonious and responsible coexistence between people, wildlife, and nature. We rely on modern water, energy, and waste management systems; we prioritize local products with minimal packaging that come from natural agriculture or fisheries; and we have eliminated single-use plastic bottles and plastic straws at nearly all of our beach clubs.

Based on a new Aldiana sustainability strategy, we regularly audit our clubs to ensure that we’re all working together toward the same goal.
Our Environment

We protect what matters to us

At Aldiana, we strive for harmony between people, animals, and nature. We organize our daily operations in a responsible and forward-thinking manner—from efficient water, energy, and waste management to the preferential use of regional, unpackaged products from organic farming and sustainable fisheries. We are increasingly reducing our use of single-use plastic bottles, and we no longer use plastic straws at all.

Travel Climate-Friendly with KlimaLink

At Aldiana, we’re committed to greater transparency and responsibility when it comes to travel: Together with our climate partner, KlimaLink, we make the CO₂e emissions of our trips visible and easy to understand. This way, our guests not only gain clear insights into the climate impact of their vacation, but also receive helpful tips on how to make their trip more sustainable and climate-friendly.

Sustainability Certificate

Travelife for Accommodations

The international Travelife initiative recognizes hotels and tourism businesses that meet particularly high standards of sustainability and social responsibility. Travelife is a universal certification recognized by the CSRD for responsible tourism. Hotels that wish to display the Travelife logo must meet approximately 143 environmental and social criteria and demonstrate transparent sustainability plans for the coming 12 months. This status is rigorously reviewed annually, and the certification process must be renewed every two years. 

We are proud of this recognition; sustainability is not a goal, but an ongoing process that we are consistently pursuing.

Chemical Safety: At our club facilities, we place great emphasis on the responsible and safe handling of chemicals. Reducing Plastic: We are committed to significantly reducing the use of plastic in our purchasing processes. Resource Optimization: We promote effective recycling programs and prioritize the use of reusable items. Water Integrity: The protection and purity of groundwater are of particular importance to us.

Efficiency

We create and protect jobs by carefully selecting our suppliers and service providers. Strict controls on energy and water consumption, as well as waste disposal, help us continuously improve.
Energy Conservation: We are increasingly using energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs to conserve energy. Food Selection: We carefully plan our menus and source products from select suppliers. Training: We provide training to both our employees and our suppliers, covering both technical topics and general topics such as sustainability. Water: We train our teams to reduce water consumption, use water-saving fixtures, and recycle rainwater for landscaping at many of our facilities. We also encourage mindful towel and linens changes at all our club facilities.

Sustainability Seal

Quality and sustainability are important issues that make it worthwhile to continually improve. Our efforts are supported by official certification processes for sustainable tourism.
THE CODE: THE CODE is an international organization dedicated to protecting children in the tourism industry. We actively support this initiative through employee training and are committed to upholding and protecting children’s rights. Travelife: This independent, accredited certification program for sustainable tourism is internationally recognized. It helps us further advance our efforts in the areas of environmental protection, fair working conditions, and support for local communities. The first four club resorts have already earned the independent Travelife Gold Certificate for sustainability: Aldiana Club Andalusia, Aldiana Club Fuerteventura, Aldiana Club Ampflwang, and Aldiana Club Salzkammergut. Additional sustainability certifications: We are also taking further steps toward local certification programs. Our clubs are continuously improving their practices through local initiatives and certifications to ensure the highest standards in environmental protection, social responsibility, and ethical business practices.
