Everything You Need to Know About Your Vacation at the Aldiana Club Salzkammergut
Getting There
In Austria, German citizens can enter the country with a passport or national ID card without any additional requirements. You can find all the important and up-to-date information here: aldiana.com/infos.
Depending on your arrival time, your room will be available no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. The Aldiana Salzkammergut is easily accessible by car. Take the Munich–Salzburg A8 highway.
Vignette required in Austria. (You’ll receive a voucher for a 10-day car vignette with your travel documents. Starting in winter 2022/23, you’ll receive one vignette per booking, regardless of the number of travelers or the length of your stay. For bookings from Germany.
Then take the Salzburg–Vienna/Linz A1 highway to the Thalgau/Bad Ischl/Bad Aussee/Bad Mitterndorf exit. After about 80 km on a well-maintained country road, you’ll reach Bad Mitterndorf. From there, follow the signs toward Aldiana Salzkammergut & GrimmingTherme. Traveling by train is another convenient way to reach our club. Take a direct train to Bad Mitterndorf/Heilbrunn.
For stays beginning in June 2026, a flat-rate parking fee of 10 euros per car per night (full travel day) will be introduced. Access is via a barrier system, and payment is made at the front desk.
The transfer from the Bad Mitterndorf/Heilbrunn train station takes about 2 minutes (available by arrangement only).
Transfers from nearby airports are subject to a fee. The trip takes about 90 minutes from Salzburg Airport and about 100 minutes from Graz Airport.
There is no car rental office at the Aldiana Salzkammergut. However, a rental car can be arranged for you through the front desk if you make a reservation in advance.
About the Vacation Destination
The official language at the Aldiana Club Salzkammergut is German. Most of our staff also speak English.
At the Aldiana Club Salzkammergut, you can use your electrical devices with the standard 230-volt plug used in Germany. You do not need an adapter.

In general, you do not need any special vaccinations or medical protection for your vacation at Aldiana Salzkammergut. However, we recommend that you inform yourself well in advance about infectious diseases, vaccinations, and other preventive measures; if necessary, you should seek medical advice regarding thrombosis and other health risks. Please refer to general information sources, particularly local health departments, physicians experienced in travel medicine, tropical medicine specialists, the Travel Medicine Information Service, or the Federal Center for Health Education.
The national currency in Austria is the euro.
Medical care is always available at Aldiana Salzkammergut. There are two doctors’ offices right in the town of Bad Mitterndorf. The front desk can help you schedule appointments. There is a medical center in the town of Liezen, 25 km away. The nearest hospital is in Bad Aussee, 15 km away.
Dining at the Club
The Connect Bar is open daily and offers daily specials and house-made cocktails, as well as happy hour on select drinks. The Stüberl shows SKY sports events and serves the “Snackline” in the late afternoon. The spa restaurant and the sauna bar also offer a variety of light and hearty snacks.
At Aldiana Salzkammergut, we offer half-board plus. But even with this plan, drinks during meals are included. For example, during breakfast hours you’ll receive hot beverages and juices, and at dinner, soft drinks, beer, and table wine are included at no extra charge.
Almost all sports and fitness activities, as well as access to our thermal spa, are free of charge. Ski and snowboard lessons for beginners can be booked on-site for an additional fee (during the winter season). Ski guiding (winter season) is included. Hiking and biking tours with local guides are included (excluding bike rentals). Childcare and evening entertainment are also included, of course.
The Aldiana Club Salzkammergut features a buffet restaurant with live cooking stations. Enjoy our breakfast buffet from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a relaxed late-riser breakfast until 11:00 a.m. In the afternoon, we serve the Snackline free of charge in the restaurant. In the evening, our buffet is available from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Every Tuesday, the snack selection is served outdoors. Offers and opening hours may vary by season.

Depending on availability, the facilities also offer diabetic meals, as well as lactose-free and gluten-free options. We also offer vegetarian and vegan delicacies whenever possible. If you have any special requests, we’re of course available to assist you on-site or via email at lebensmittelunvertraeglichkeiten@aldiana.com.
Kids & Teens
You can reserve free baby and toddler kits in advance for your vacation. Baby food and diapers can be purchased at the nearby supermarket. Hipp baby food is provided free of charge in the baby corner during main meals.
Children ages 2–6 are cared for daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including lunch, dinner, snacks, and beverages. Special programs are offered for children ages 7–17 during German school breaks. All children ages 2–17 receive full board plus as part of the childcare program. In addition, a selection of beverages is available at the club during childcare hours.
Winter: There is no childcare on Sundays.
Summer: There is no childcare on Saturdays.
Club Vacation
Like every Aldiana Club, the Aldiana Salzkammergut has an entertainment team that takes care of you from morning to night. Of course, only if you want them to. Starting with the morning fitness class, activities continue in the summer with archery, for example, or in the winter on the slopes with our downhill and cross-country ski guides. The day is rounded out with a varied evening program. Our entertainment team operates by the motto: Everyone can, but no one has to... You’re guaranteed never to get bored. And if you just want some peace and quiet, we’ll respect that, of course! The entertainment team is there for you 6 days a week (days without entertainment: Sundays in winter | Saturdays in summer)

Every Thursday, we welcome our guests to Aldiana Memories Day and Evening. The theme of the evening—and the dress code—is “Elegant.” We’ll welcome you with an aperitif starting at 6:30 p.m. and for dinner in the restaurant starting at 7:00 p.m. At 9:15 p.m., the show begins in the theater.
In addition, every Tuesday we welcome our guests to Austrian Night; you’re also welcome to wear traditional Austrian clothing or folk costumes.

You’ll find an on-site boutique and a spa shop.
Our boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In the spa shop, located right at the entrance to the GrimmingTherme (open during the GrimmingTherme’s operating hours), you’ll find swimwear, wellness and personal care products, gift items, souvenirs, magazines, accessories, and much more.
The Aldiana Club Salzkammergut does not have a tour guide. Our front desk and the digital web app are your go-to resources for all your vacation needs.
We look forward to welcoming our guests in the evening in appropriate attire in the “casual-chic” style. On Thursdays, for our gala evening, the theme is “elegant,” and on Tuesdays, “traditional attire.” It would be wonderful if you could help set the mood by wearing appropriate attire on these days.

The facility is well-suited for wheelchair users. The following areas are wheelchair-accessible: the lobby, reception desk, restaurant, theater bar, Ollis Stüberl, the garden (to a limited extent), and the thermal baths.
Pets are not allowed at Aldiana Salzkammergut.
The Aldiana Club Salzkammergut features a thermal spa directly connected to the club. The admission fee is already included in the tour price. The GrimmingTherme offers a large spa and wellness area with beauty treatments, as well as a spacious sauna area.
