Frequently Asked Questions at Club Hochkönig

In Austria, German citizens can enter the country with a passport or national ID card without any additional requirements. You can find all the important and up-to-date information here: aldiana.com/infos.

Depending on your arrival time, your room will be available no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. In most cases, however, you can check in earlier—often immediately upon arrival. The Aldiana Club Hochkönig is easily accessible by car. A vignette is required in Austria. You’ll receive a voucher for a 10-day car vignette with your travel documents. You’ll receive one vignette per booking, regardless of the number of travelers or the length of your stay, and it must be redeemed directly at the ADAC office. If you’re coming from Bischofshofen, drive through Mühlbach until you see the “Aldiana Hochkönig” sign. Turn right here and follow the signs. If you’re coming over the Dientner Sattel, turn left before entering Mühlbach and follow the signs to the Aldiana Club Hochkönig. In winter, we recommend using snow chains in case of heavy snowfall. Winter tires are mandatory in Austria starting November 1.

For stays beginning in June 2026, a flat-rate parking fee of 5 euros per car per night (full travel day) will be introduced. Payment is to be made at the front desk. 

The transfer from the Bischofshofen train station takes about 20 minutes, and from the Salzburg Airport, about 50 minutes.

There is no car rental office at the Aldiana Club Hochkönig. However, a rental car can be arranged for you through the front desk if you make a reservation in advance.

The official language at the Aldiana Club Hochkönig is German. Most of our staff also speak English.

At the Aldiana Club Hochkönig, you can use your electrical devices with the standard 230-volt plug used in Germany. You do not need an adapter.

A tourist tax is currently levied at the following Aldiana Club resorts: Aldiana Club Djerba Atlantide, Club Ampflwang, Club Hochkönig, and Club Salzkammergut. This tax is set by the respective state governments and collected on site. The amount may vary. All Aldiana guests will receive the exact and current tourist tax rates on site at their booked Aldiana Club.

In general, you do not need any special vaccinations or medical protection for your vacation at Aldiana Hochkönig. However, we recommend that you inform yourself well in advance about infectious diseases, vaccinations, and other preventive measures; if necessary, you should seek medical advice regarding thrombosis and other health risks. Please refer to general information sources, particularly local health departments, physicians experienced in travel medicine, tropical medicine specialists, the Travel Medicine Information Service, or the Federal Center for Health Education.

The national currency in Austria is the euro.

Medical care is always available at Aldiana Hochkönig. There is a doctor’s office right in the town of Mühlbach. The front desk can arrange appointments, including with specialists. The nearest pharmacy is in Bischofshofen (about a 15-minute drive from the club). The nearest hospital is in Schwarzach (about 25 km away). There is a Red Cross station in Bischofshofen.

The Aldiana Club Hochkönig features a lobby bar with a sun terrace, a piazza bar, a fireplace bar, and a disco. The bars serve a wide variety of drinks, such as coffee, cocktails, soft drinks, beer, and wine, as well as light snacks.

At the Aldiana Club Hochkönig, we offer you Half-Board Plus. But even with this plan, selected beverages during meals are already included (except during snack time). This includes almost all sports and fitness activities, use of our wellness center, and introductory courses. Ski and snowboard lessons for beginners can be booked on-site for an additional fee (during the winter season). Ski guiding (winter season) is included. Of course, childcare for children ages 2 and up and the evening entertainment program are also included.

The Aldiana Club Hochkönig features a buffet restaurant with live cooking stations. In the afternoon, we serve you an afternoon snack (free of charge from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) right at the Piazza Bar and, in the summer when the weather is nice, at the lobby bar.

Depending on availability, the facilities also offer diabetic meals, as well as lactose-free and gluten-free options. We also offer vegetarian and vegan delicacies whenever possible. If you have any special requests, we’re of course available to assist you on-site or via email at lebensmittelunvertraeglichkeiten@aldiana.com.

You can reserve free baby and toddler kits for your vacation in advance. Baby food and diapers can be purchased on-site at the front desk (for a fee); baby food can be prepared (from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. by our service staff), and high chairs and cribs are available.

Children ages 2 to 6 are cared for daily from 9:00 a.m. (winter season) or 10:00 a.m. (summer season) until 8:00 p.m., including lunch, dinner, snacks, and beverages. Special programs are offered for children ages 7 to 17 during German school breaks. All children ages 2 to 17 receive full board plus as part of the club’s childcare program. In addition, a selection of beverages is available at the club during childcare hours. There is no childcare on Saturdays during the summer and winter.

Like every Aldiana Club, the Aldiana Club Hochkönig has an entertainment team that takes care of you from morning to night. Of course, only if you want them to. Starting with the morning fitness class, in the summer you can join guided hikes, for example, or hit the slopes in the winter with our ski and snowboard guides. The day wraps up with the Aldiana Show in the evening. Our entertainment team operates by the motto: Everyone can, but no one has to... You’re guaranteed never to get bored. And if you just want some peace and quiet, we’ll respect that, of course!

Every Thursday, we welcome you to Aldiana Memories Day. The theme for the evening—and the dress code—is “chic and elegant.” Starting at 7:00 p.m., the entertainment team will welcome all guests at the restaurant entrance. The show begins at 9:15 p.m.

The Aldiana Club Hochkönig does not have its own shops. Various everyday items are available at the front desk. You can purchase winter sports equipment at the adjacent ski shop.

The Aldiana Club Hochkönig does not have its own tour guide service. Our front desk, which is staffed 24 hours a day, is your point of contact for any questions you may have about your vacation.

We recommend sporty-elegant hiking and athletic wear during the day. At Aldiana restaurants, style is both expected and embraced—guests dress in a sporty-elegant manner. Men typically wear long pants in the evening. Once a week, we celebrate the Aldiana Holiday with the theme “Chic and Elegant.” On Mondays and Fridays, our theme is traditional attire. We’d appreciate it if you could coordinate your outfit accordingly.
